Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) was established in the year 1975 by the Bundelkhand University, Jhansi (A public University). The college is affiliated to the Bundelkhand University and approved by the AICTE and MHRD, New Delhi. The IET, BU is also approved by the UP Board of Technical Education and the State Government of UP. The Institute of Agricultural Sciences of Bundelkhand University offers UG and PG agriculture courses.

The Institute of Engineering & Technology is situated on the University campus with 25 institutions of higher learning. The campus is located on the Jhansi – Kanpur Road (National Highway-25) in Jhansi, the district of UP. The whole campus is built over an area of 186 acres of land.
